Ms. Autumn Wallace is a National Board Certified 3rd grade teacher at an elementary school in Beaufort County School District in North Carolina. She used Reflex last year, and “fell absolutely in love with it!”
Before Reflex, she had tried “everything to help my kids learn their math facts: timed tests, flash cards, incentive charts, fact games, and other computer programs.” But none of the other tools were as effective as Reflex.
With Reflex, “my kids actually love learning and practicing their facts! I love the fact that Reflex adjusts to fit individual student needs, so that my EC students are finding success using Reflex as well.” Reflex has been a great success in her classroom. “Reflex has had an amazing effect on my students’ math abilities. They are stronger problem solvers because they don’t waste their brain power on adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing.”
Ms. Wallace tracks student progress on a bulletin board. “Our class line plot shows the amazing progress we have made this year. The top represents addition and subtraction (we started in that at the beginning of the year) and the bottom is multiplication and division. Students who reach 100% on addition and subtraction get to ‘graduate’ to the bottom line, which is multiplication and division. So far 13 of my students have graduated to multiplication and division and, out of those, 6 students are 100% in multiplication and division!”
